I wonder if you created a shirt that said "ABC lost our hearts when
we lost "All our children". Make our family whole again and got people
buying it along with your campaign on Facebook, Twitter or whatever if
ABC would listen after seeing how many people have stopped watching. I
used to watch everything from the news in the am, the view and my soaps.
If I wasn't home, I taped it or watched on Soapnet. I've now been
watching other networks and very seldom Channel 5. Sad. It was always my
favorite station but if they don't care what we want and only care
about ratings which for the life of me I can't figure out how they get
their numbers since I don't know of one single person with a Nielson
box, I don't have any loyalty left for them. Bring it back, I'll come
back.
Amy is it possible that they would consider soapnet cause it is a cable channel most of us have cable and we pay for it if they having a financial problem to bring back Amc and Oltl back on they already doing repeats of Amc and Oltl around 3am to 5am eastern time. why not try it that way. I dont know how visible . all I know that I do miss Amc so much I watch Oltl right now and that going real soon I'm boycutting ABC as much As possible I do still watch GH So going be hard to boycut they all the way
I feel as if my own family has broken up--dont think abc realizes what they have done--millions of us felt as if the pine valley clan was our family!!! i cant begin to tell you how much you are all missed-EVERY single day i say to hubby gee i so miss all my children !! i dont even watch channel 7 anymore at all because i am soooooo upset my family is not on anymore---please come back as you all were such a part of our life !!!! how about a reunion on another channel--maybe the show will be picked up on another station--please--we have to come up with some idea to bring you all back !!!!
I am a baby of the fifties and I am as "paranoid as you. I do not watch ABC at all. I personal think the LAST thing we need is ANOTHER Reality Show. Considering there is nothing real about them. As far as the chew. If I wanted to watch another cooking show I tune into the Food network. I stopped watching ABC news years ago. After that whats left. Another stupid comedy that makes fun or our intelligence! I'm with your suggestion by Boycotting ABC and all of there sponsors. Maybe if all the soap fans started crashing the ABC and Sponsor web sites with comments and emails we might get our point across. Look what happen to DC and the Capital Hill web sites a few months ago. I'm just saying............
Has anyone ever heard exactly WHO is behind Prospect Park? I tried to Google them and came up with parks in Boston and San Francisco, etc., but no Prospect Park BUSINESS venture. When I finally found a link in another article about their "apologies" for canning this online soap opera venture, the site is "under construction". Isn't that ODD since everyone in the industry has (THEORETICALLY) heard about their successful business model? Now, I may be a child of the 60's and, therefore, PARANOID (!); but I can't help but wonder if ABC/Disney didn't have a hand ($$$) in this somewhere along the line. The money that PP claims to have lost in this attempt could surely have been reimbursed by Disney just for dangling this "carrot" in front of the fans to take the heat off of them, hopefully to deflate the zeal/disappointment that we have all publicly expressed since they announced the cancellations. I have seen several posts elsewhere with people begging Oprah to step in; but, let's face it---if she was INTERESTED in this, she would have taken charge in the first place! We can't (and shouldn't have to) keep BEGGING Disney/ABC, Prospect Park, and Oprah to SAVE OUR SOAPS!!! The only impact that we can have is through the SPONSORS! Fortunately, Hoover stepped up immediately; however, there weren't enough sponsors that followed suit. This is still the best chance that we have. By NOT choosing to watch "The Chew" and "The Revolution" and informing THEIR sponsors the reason that we aren't (Hey! ABC took away our programs for these, so why would I want to REWARD them with my viewership?), we may have some small impact. I would be interested in seeing how ABC's "numbers" are doing once we all boycot ALL of their programs, but I sincerely doubt that we will ever hear the truth (PARANOIA!) since statistics can be skewed to read whatever they choose. Yes, I, too, miss AMC and will miss OLTL when they depart. I have been there since the beginnings of both of them; however, I still miss "Port Charles" and loved the quirkiness and especially Michael Easton. I was thrilled when he joined OLTL, but he's never been as SEXY as when he played Caleb!!! My point is: Cable has basically killed the soaps, not just ours. I know that shows are cancelled all of the time from prime time, but none of them have been "family" and few ("60 Minutes) of them have lasted as long as these. Yes, it is a TRAGEDY to those of us who care; but I seriously doubt that we will be able to convince anyone to put up the $$$ to save them AND us! That doesn't mean that we should throw in the towel and give up, however. I will support any and all efforts to bring them back in whatever venue possible!
I have been watching All My Children since it 1st came on the air...I am so sad that the network took it off the tv...I miss everyone and I strongly wish that they change their mind and reinstate AMC to its original spot on daytime tv..."The Chew" stinks...Please come back AMC...
